Graduate Certificate in Worship Leadership

worshipCertInsetThe majority of worship leaders in the evangelical church do not have formal training in worship leadership, and yet they are charged with shaping and shepherding the local body of Christ in its most central gathering times. As a result, corporate worship vision and practice in many churches is often unclear, influenced more by cultural elements than the Bible.

Our new graduate certificate is a two-year modular program designed to equip worship leaders in fulfilling their call to serve the Church by engaging their hearts and minds with vital exegetical, theological, cross-cultural, and practical tools.

Only after God has spoken can we respond. Therefore, our program’s courses begin with God and the Bible, and then move to the practical concerns of worship and pastoral leadership:

  • Theological Courses: Christian Doctrine Survey, Theology of Worship, The Worshipping Church, Bible Study Methods, Worship and Culture.
  • Practical Courses: Worship Design and Leadership, Heart and Role of the Worship Leader, Worship and Technology.

These courses are offered as intensive modules, each the length of a week or extended weekend, and currently are scheduled four times throughout the year: in August, October, February, and May/June. Single courses may also be taken for continuing education units or audited.
